SBA 2023 conference was hosted by the University of Western Australia on the picturesque Swan River in Perth, attracting the largest number of attendees to date.
SBA 2021 was held online with in-person events held in almost all Australian and New Zealand major cities. The program included both biophysical and social science, as well as an industry engagement session.
SBA 2019 conference was hosted by the University of Queensland in sunny Brisbane in 2019.
Our second conference was hosted by Macquarie University in Sydney in 2017 and attracted more than 200 participants and featured many world leaders in synthetic biology as international speakers.
In 2015 our first conference was held in Canberra, in collaboration with CSIRO, with 120 participants.

Synthetic Biology Australasia is run by a team of volunteers from across Australia and New Zealand.
